There will be bodies at the Snowbird Hobby Shop and paint if you
want to get one ready for the races!
Lights Out Race RULES / NOTES:
Pan Car and/or World GT race cars.
75 lap race.
Bodies:
Pan Car - COT, stock car, or truck body.
World GT - standard World GT bodies.
Classic car bodies used in Figure 8 are legal.
Power:
1S maximum battery.
13.5 maximum motor.
Scarecrow stipulations:
No night vision.
No lights in cars.
No spotters.
No head sets.
No following cars with light beams.
No glow in the dark paint.
I will tape a glow stick to your car.
I will provide glow sticks for drivers.
Rules can be added or changed as needed.
The race is simple... we turn out the lights and go racing! Check out
this video from the old Thunder Raceway and a couple lights out races there:
Figure 8 Race RULES / NOTES: We will have two
Figure 8 races.
1 race for Pan Cars and/or World GT.
1 race for Touring Cars (rubber tires).
100 lap races each.
Drivers E-mail your car number to us.
Bodies: (both races have same body rules)
Bodies must be 1955-1985 Street Stock / Bomber car styles.
200mm-190mm R/C bodies / see example of stock car R/C bodies
here.
Front windshield intact / side & rear windows can be cut / backs
left in.
All four fenders must remain on body / no 'open-wheel' style.
Rear spoiler can be added (no wings) / 5/8" (.625) maximum spoiler size.
No exposed bumpers / no nerf wings or roll bars exposed.
No double shelled bodies / wheel wells must be cut out 'normally'.
Special Concourse for stock car bodies in the Figure 8:
Winners gets get two Disney World Park Hopper tickets!
Must look like a Street Stock / Bomber type car. Hand-painted numbers
a plus (unusual car numbers like K2, A1, etc). Hand-painted sponsors
a plus (like Joes Body Shop, etc.
nothing corporate).
Maximum weight will be in effect (no crazy add-ons to gain weight):
Pan Cars / World GT max 40oz / Touring Car max 1500 grams.
Power:
Pan Cars / World GT: 1S / 17.5 / Open Speedo.
Touring Cars: 2S / 17.5 / Open Speedo. Rules can be
added or changed as needed.
