IT'S THE SAME FOR EVERYONE
No matter what racing variables are faced, they are the same for all racers.
The Snowbird's is unique in that there are no local track champions and no one
knows what to expect until the cars hit the track. We have always felt
one of the reason's that racers like to race the Snowbird's is that the race
is equal, from the practice times, to the handout motor classes, no one has an
unfair advantage. Racers are as equal as possible!
'I am a racer and I want to go to
a race feeling I have an equal chance as the next racer'.
We work hard to make the Bird's fair. This race is a true test of RC
skill and who can adapt to the track and it's conditions. |
WELCOME
BACK RACE FANS
The countdown has begun! We're all excited and ready to Rock n' Roll
again in 2005. Last year's race was another wild week of RC fun and we
hope that if you were here, you had a great time, win or lose! There was
a ton of awesome racing, many wild stories, and some long crazy nights.
We hope that you are planning on joining the action of the 2005 'Birds.
As always, we learned a lot from last year's race and are working very hard to
make next year even better.
THUNDER RACING CREW

Thunder Racing is a group of several dedicated racers
that are committed to bring you
this race each year, a race that you can look forward to and expect to be
professional, fair, and fun. We are racers that know what racers want.
We try very hard to keep the race simple, with common sense rules and
attitudes. Just like the famous 'golden rule', we strive to treat
racers the way we expect to be treated as racers.
A huge thanks to the people below
as they have helped build this great racing tradition! Without their
week long dedication the 'Bird's would not be possible:
Jason Barnes, Mike Bean,
Julie Boylan, Steve Boylan, Dave Fox, Ken Holmes,
Sam Ledford, Chuck Mann,
Mel McCoy, John Moukie, Paul Patterson, Curt
Sanderson, Jim Smith, Paul Schaub, Bill Spicer.
A special thanks also to:
Mom & Dad Boylan, Paul & Dorothy
Johnson, Rich Baran, Timmie Anderson, Emily Morey, Jim Fuller.

THE EVOLUTION OF THE 'BIRD
What began as a small club race with 119
entries at a high bank
indoor oval in Tampa,
Florida, has evolved into an International
Racing Event
that sells out and attracts all the
world's top RC teams and racers. We
topped
800 entries with close to 500 total racers in
2004. We can not
thank everyone enough for
their support through the years with this race.
Since going to the new venue in 2001, which
included oval and on-road carpet
racing, the
race has grown tremendously, from sponsor
support and attendance,
to race coverage
and overall race excitement!
The race entries for each year
are below.

WHATS NEW FOR 2005?
In the effort to make the race better each year we
may adopt a new race schedule. Watch
the site for possible new scenarios and formats. Stay tuned for race
dates and hotel information in the weeks ahead.
WHAT IS THE SNOWBIRDS?
*very small editorial by Mike Boylan
The Snowbird's is about looking forward to something all year long. It's
about the excitement of racing after the holidays in Sunny Orlando, Florida in
the middle of the Winter. It's about hangin' with your racin'
friends that you may not have seen for awhile. It is about seeing all the
World's top RC manufacture's and their hot new stuff. It's about
talking face to face to top team racers on setups and racing advice. It
is about watching some great racing 24 hours a day. It's about having a
wonderful time on vacation, win or lose, and going home with unforgettable
stories that you will have for a lifetime. And as Erich Reichert put in
the RC Driver magazine coverage: "It's the big-time".
"I
hope you can make it to our race and be a part of the Snowbird tradition"! MB |
